Abstract
Hemorrhoids are a very common cause for medical/surgical consultation. A thorough understanding of their pathophysiology and presentation, coupled with a methodic approach to the patient interview and exam, is vital to establishing the correct diagnosis and therefore guiding treatment or the need for further workup.
