Abstract
Laparoscopic lavage has emerged as a possible non-resection treatment option for patients with purulent peritonitis from diverticulitis. This article critically reviews the laparoscopic lavage literature and offers a recommendation regarding the use of lavage in the management of patients with diverticulitis.
