Abstract
Colonic Crohn's disease continues to be a controversial and management dilemma for both gastroenterologist and surgeon. Over the years multiple operations and treatment paradigms have been debated and discussed. Today, the surgical treatment of Crohn's disease is no less controversial; however, modern surgical techniques and new biologic therapies have provided the patient with new opportunities to address this often chronic disease. Through this review we hope to highlight the data behind what we feel to be the current therapy of choice in the surgical management of colonic Crohn's disease.
