Abstract
The addition of double-balloon enteroscopy (DBE) to the methods for investigation of gastrointestinal (GI) disorders has revolutionized the etiological exploration of small bowel disease. DBE appears as a promising diagnostic method for small bowel polyps and tumors. Small bowel tumors (SBTs) mainly include adenocarcinoma, carcinoid, lipoma, hemangioma, gastrointestinal stroma tumor (GIST), neuroendocrine tumors, lymphoma and coworkers Observation on most common pathological type and locations of SBTs are variable in different studies. DBE combined with other radiological modalities may be helpful in increasing the detection rate and defining the location of the lesion. Our ongoing task is to establish a more reasonable and reliable diagnostic flowchart for the diagnosis and treatment of small bowel tumors.
