Abstract
Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) is has become a popular procedure: patients like it due to the minimal invasive nature with fast recovery and the medical community has to acknowledge the growing favourable evidence. The result is a growing number of annually performed TAVI procedures. This article summarizes the history of TAVI, the technique and how it evolved over the years, the current evidence and will try to give a glimpse of the future of TAVI.
