La psychiatrie de la personne âgée à l'heure de la réforme du 3e cycle des études médicales

The redesign of the French medical residency system is ongoing and will have important consequences. A new paradigm of “graded” internship and residency is proposed. Access to a given internship or residency will depend on the trainee's experience. The different specialties will be reorganized into 3 main training courses: medical, surgical and biological. A vast reform of subspecialty training is included in this restructuring. This reform will enable old age psychiatry to be formalized as an official psychiatric subspecialty in France.
