Abstract
The ageing of the population is altering the outpatient psychiatric care offer. Thus, since 2012, the mobile psychiatric team for the elderly (EMPPA Ouest 94) in Paul Guiraud Hospital, Villejuif, has been entrusted with the task of evaluating and referring elderly patients with psychiatric disorders. It provides services for people aged 60Â years and over living in one of the 15Â municipalities in the west of Val-de-Marne (greater Paris area). It functions in pluridisciplinary manner, involving the team psychiatrist, the team nurse and a nurse from the centre médico-psychologique (CMP) for the patient's place of residence. This article describes the setting in which this team was created, its objectives, its modes of functioning and the results achieved after 2Â years of activity.
