Abstract
Aphasia due to a stroke requires intense speech therapy in order to optimize the recovery of language skills by patients. Given the increasing demand for consultations in France, it is difficult for speech therapists to provide all patients with optimal monitoring. In this paper, we present a web-based tool, Melodic and Rhythmic Therapy (MRT), a new method of aphasia remediation. The therapeutic project provided by this tool is divided into two phases (pre-verbal and verbal exercises), which the therapist prescribes depending on the degree of aphasia and the patient's progress. The computer as a component in speech therapy to back up face-to-face therapy is a valuable addition. It enhances the effects of speech therapy on language rehabilitation, even among elderly patients.
