Abstract
The establishment of a consultation “balance and walk instability” as part of a working framework in liberal medicine to be used to analyze the causes of gait disorders. This multidisciplinary consultation is in four stages: a self-administered questionnaire, a nursing assessment, a comprehensive medical examination and an instrumental analysis of gait. This comprehensive approach allows early detection of patients at risk of falling and reduces the pre-dementia state among them, notably when experiencing double-task walking. It also helps guide patients towards preventive and rehabilitative treatment adapted to their personal needs. A study is under way, and to date 30 patients have been included: a wider recruitment is necessary to confirm and validate the results when this network is set up.
