Abstract
Introduced nationally in 2013 in article 48 of the proposed law for the funding of French national health insurance (sécurité sociale), PAERPA is particularly ambitious by way of its integration of different actors and their activities. The experiment conducted in the territory of north-east Paris complies with the goals set out in the National Health Strategy, centred on flexible and coordinated healthcare itineraries for the elderly. It also follows on from the work previously conducted under the auspices of ANAP (Agence nationale d'appui à la performance) and the Regional Health Agency (ARSIF). It has in particular enabled better identification of the care offer and the needs of the population, and has highlighted the central role of information systems (IS) for integration, alongside the urgent need for convergence of the different projects initiated around these systems. The PAERPA project has strengthened the visibility of our developing medical discipline in the setting of a large university hospital.
