Abstract
Therapeutic Alzheimer day care centers are sociomedical structures of proximity, offering the possibility of welcoming people suffering from Alzheimer who still live at home, during the daytime; several times a week. These therapeutic day care centers differ from the occupational day care centers since they use non-drugs therapies: various workshops are run by a multidisciplinary team. Their aims are to stimulate these patients, while respecting their tastes in order to maintain their autonomy, to stimulate the cognitive functions and to maintain the best possible condition of health. The relief for caregivers and the delay of institutionalization are other important goals. Indications are spread to all the Alzheimer or related pathology patients willing to attend.
