Abstract
Alzheimer's disease is a paradigmatic entity. Despite an increasingly efficient diagnosis of dementia, announcement of the disease remains a real challenge. Because of social and personal representations, diagnostic uncertainties on the nature of the dementia and on forecast, disclosing an Alzheimer's disease diagnosis to a frail person is not simple for a physician. Because of the length of the disease and the effects on patients and their caregivers, the issue of disclosing the diagnosis opens a discussion about accompanying patients and their families.
