Abstract
There is little data concerning Internet, health and the elderly. In spite of this, it is a rapidly growing field in which patients' relatives, scientists and economists are linked in their interest. There is a place for the practitioner, between “acquired scientific data” and “proven medical data”, when seeking differing knowledge promoted by the Web. The practitioner has to participate professionally in a new situation, called profane expertise. With regard to health, the use of the Internet has become a tool for sharing knowledge but also for educating the laymen.
