Abstract
In France, Alzheimer's disease affects 850,000 people currently. It is therefore essential to create new therapeutic approaches to assist this population which is in constant evolution. Among them, the ecosystemic therapy applies a cognitive behavioral approach to the patient while providing support to the means of communication on his family. To estimate the value of this therapy, we have chosen to use the RBMT III, which assesses ecological memory, to compare a population A composed of five MMS inferior to 14 patients treated by an ecosystemic therapy, with a population B including five other patients, at the same stage but without any rehabilitation. Our study showed that the A population had performed better in most tests. Finally, the population A, with better scores on tests, seems to retain the information longer in memory. This study has shown that the ecosystemic approach improves memory's capacity significantly. This allows us to hypothesize that an ecosystemic therapy of communication would affect the cognitive abilities in the longer term.
