Abstract
To follow the malnourished residents, the medical coordinator in nursing home must use reliable indicators and easily accessible. Recent work has led us to revisit the strategy of screening for malnutrition. Indeed, the method by BMI and MNA, as advocated by the High Authority for Health (HAS), had previously been conducted in our nursing home. But we found that obtaining such data was too heavy for regular monitoring. To be preventive and effective, the strategy of screening for protein-energy malnutrition in nursing home must be quick and easy. We selected a method for which the weight change remains an essential criterion. This article proposes to review the difficulties which we have faced. It then describes the steps of the method which was chosen.
