Abstract
Physiotherapy is important in the “gerontologic care”. Its effectiveness in preventing bedridden and maintain motor skills depend greatly on the organization of care. A simple and functional tool: the “test of five meters” which is to determine the optimum capacity postural or motor to travel a distance of five meters allows for regular monitoring of the evolution of these parameters. Compiling the result of 2966 measurements for 120 nursing home beds over a period of 53 months show, thanks to support from physiotherapy, a remarkable stability of motor performance.
