Abstract
Bisphoshonates are powerful drugs that inhibit the bone resorption. Their use has increased dramatically in recent years. Bisphosphonates are prescribed in patients with osteoporosis or metastatic bone disease because they reduce the pain and the risk of pathological fractures. Their administration may bring some adverse events such as osteonecrosis of the jaws. In purpose to decrease this risk, an appropriate management of patients is necessary before, during and after bisphosphonate therapy. Dentist should educate patients to keep a good oral hygiene, to have regular check-up and must perform an appropriate dental care.
