Abstract
The study presented in this article has for objectives to take up the impact and the evolution of the processes of comparison during ageing. These processes are envisaged here as being adaptive processes set up to face changes, sources of uncertainties. The results of our study show that the frequencies of the social comparisons and the reminiscences depend on the interaction between the age and the level of satisfaction of life, that the old persons make fewer reminiscences positive than the young people, what can constitute a strategy of adjustment, a means not to be estimated to preserve a positive self.
