Abstract
Caring for timescale disorientated people includes several aspects, which require a profound knowledge of the patient's background and capabilities in order to constantly fine-tune the treatment. With this in mind, the use of cognitive-behavioral therapy is remarkable. Combined with the use of a musical calendar, this drug-free scheme may provide effective symptom reduction. The musical calendar exploits the mnesic system left intact and helps to sustain the patient's communication functions. The presented case study illustrates how a symptom, disorientated timescale ability, can be linked with a mnesic care assistance tool, the calendar and a communication tool, music. This triad was orchestrated within an institutionalized psychogeriatrics population.
