Abstract
Falls are very prevalent among the elderly. The detection of risk factors of balance and gait impairment would be useful to prevent falls and dependency. Easy-to-perform clinical tests, such as the get-up-and-go test, can be used to determine the appropriateness of other investigations (neurological, ENTâ¦). New dynamic posturography procedures are helpful in focusing attention on persons with a high risk of falls.
