Abstract
During the last century, life expectancy doubled in industrialized countries. Beyond longevity, maintaining health and improving the quality of life is nowadays a requirement and a public health objective. As Japan and Sweden, in Europe, are the countries where one lives longer and healthier, we analyzed these models for France. Predictive factors for healthy aging such as environment, way of life, social status, food, heredity, have been taken into account in this review.
