Abstract
Psychological care for patients with Alzheimer's disease residing in institutions (whether dedicated to care for dependent elderly (EHPAD) or designed for long-term care in general) is recognized, by all healthcare professionals, as a major priority. Nevertheless, practical experiences are rarely reported. We present here several psychopathological situations illustrating the implementation of “pictural mediation” used with Alzheimer's patients. This model could be helpful in understanding and relieving the psychological suffering of these patients.
