Abstract
Temporary housing is strongly recommended by policy makers, especially concerning old people with Alzheimer disease. In fact, very few nursing homes propose that service. Analysing concrete cases, we can conclude that the family care givers may profit of such a service, but the old persons themselves are frequently confronted with physical or psychological crises during the stay. Propositions are made, in order to offer better service both for the ill person and the care givers, with appropriate professional help before, during, and after the process. If not, temporary housing may not be ethically acceptable for the ill person.
