Experience of Polish patients diagnosed with HIV before and after highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) availability

Although there has been some improvement over time, the number of persons tested for HIV without consent remains high. Lack of informed consent and unprofessional communication of infection can cause significant delays in reporting to physicians, which is particularly dangerous in an era of combination antiretroviral therapy (cART).
