Abstract
SummarySkin lesions in generalised cryptococcosis can resemble wide-spread molluscum contagiosum skin infection. They are often the first symptom of disease dissemination. The patient presents at that time a relatively good status for days or even weeks before deteriorating. Generalised cryptococcosis can be the first manifestation of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. It is important to consider HIV infection in the differential diagnosis and always perform HIV testing in these patients.
