Abstract
The ELISA techniques obtained a higher percentage of concordance among them than with Immunodot and, moreover, they related better to the clinical symptoms and ANA pattern of the patients. The results also show that the presence or the specific type of ENA autoantibody does not always have a relation to the clinical status of the patient, so that the laboratory and the clinic must be conscious of the sensitivity and specificity limits of each method used in the clinical laboratory.
