Abstract
A nickel-free regimen is justified in a certain number of patients sensitized to nickel who have a clinical history which suggests an endogenous origin and for whom strict avoidance of contact with this metal and compliance to adequate therapy did not result in amelioration of symptoms. A sensible regimen limiting daily contact to less than the limit at which eruptions are triggered, with better observation of the patient than the usual very restrictive regimens, could therefore ameliorate the symptoms and also the quality of life, which is very often worse, in such patients.
