Abstract
Analysis of the clinical signs of a suspected allergic reaction to a cosmetic is essential. It will allow differentiation of immediate reactions from delayed reactions, the test method for each type being different. Knowledge of the precise kind of cosmetic and its composition (facilitated by mandatory labeling of cosmetics in Europe) will then allow use of the most appropriate method when testing cosmetics supplied by patients.
