Abstract
The phenomenon of pathergia is characterized by an erythematous induration, a papule or aseptic pustule in the site of minor trauma. This phenomenon is a peculiar characteristic of patients with Behçet's disease. Nevertheless, other diseases may induce pathergia. Pathergia is more frequent in males than in females and bears no relation to the severity of the disease. Patients with pathergia are more prone to have vascular involvement.
