Abstract
A general decrease was observed since 2000, whereas during the same period, antibiotic costs decreased. This decrease could be explained partly by the actions of the national campaigns to reduce antibiotic prescribing in ambulatory care, of new recommendations and of new agreements for prudent use of antibiotics. The increase of awareness of the general antibiotic resistance problem probably went towards modifying behaviours also.
