Abstract
The primary infection phase by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is a critical phase of virus installation in the body, resulting in an immuno-virological storm and the establishment of the HIV reservoir. The measurement of HIV-1 DNA in the total peripheric blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) is a good reflect of the viral reservoir. Treat primary HIV infection (PHI) with combined antiretroviral therapy (cART) including nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors and a protease inhibitor allow to change the dynamic of the establishment and the level of long half-life cell and tissue reservoirs, while preserving the specific and non-specific immune responses. The PHI is brief but effective in terms of viral transmission. Also, detected and treated as early as possible after the diagnotic PHI is one way to fight against the epidemic will better control epidemic that is major and growing especially in Ãle-de-France.
