Abstract
Scabies is a ubiquitous ectoparasitic disease that frequently causes outbreaks in institutions. It affects many people, especially children, and carries a heavy burden in terms of public health. The diagnosis is primarily visual but must be confirmed by parasitological samples, especially in some clinical situations. Before 2001, in France, treatment for scabies was only by topical treatments with the predominant use of benzyl benzoate. Within last 15 years, significant advances have occurred in the management of this disease, especially in terms of therapy with the routine use of ivermectin. According to the different clinical situations, this article proposes to review the different therapeutic possibilities in 2010.
