Abstract
Control of glycopeptides-resistant Enterococcus (GRE) and carbapenemase-producing enterobacteria (CPE) is a major public health concern in France where these highly resistant bacteria are still considered as emergent. New French guidelines describes measures to control the spread of GRE and CPE including recommendations to isolate, and screen for GRE/CPE, patients previously hospitalized abroad, and bundled measures to control cross-transmission. These measures vary depending on epidemiological situation (one single case identified early, delayed measures of control, or occurrence of outbreak). Infection control team plays a major role to implement these measures and to coordinate all stakeholders, medical and nursing staff, microbiologists and hospitals administrators.
