Abstract
Locally advanced tumors that are located within the thorax, but that are not eligible for surgical resection (IIIB or IIIA with macroscopic N2) are a challenge for the therapeutic strategy of lung cancer. Radiotherapy, with the recent technological improvement, remains a corner stone of combining treatment. The nowadays wonders are about association of chemotherapy, and the association with newest drugs and targeted therapies. In 2009 news and communications from the scientific congress the concomitant chemoradiotherapy remains the reference. They emphasize the interest of Pemetrexed and introduce targeted therapy but outlined some adverse effects that will require new studies to be performed.
