Abstract
Obstetrics/gynecology applicants are divided between primary care and surgical specialties as their secondary choice. Core aspects of surgery and obstetrics are most appealing. Emphasis on these components of the specialty in medical school may improve student recruitment into obstetrics/gynecology.
