Abstract
BackgroundThe present case report illustrates early intervention in an 8-year-old boy with an impacted and dilacerated upper incisor.MethodsA Hyrax expander appliance was used to increase the upper arch dimension and as a device for anchorage to the upper incisor for orthodontic traction after surgical intervention.ResultsSuccessful extrusion was achieved, and the incisor root demonstrated a new direction of growth in a more proper position, without the need for apicectomy or endodontic treatment.ConclusionEarly intervention has been shown to be more successful and can allow for better root formation.
