Abstract
SummaryManuscripts are one of the precious materials of our cultural heritage, acting as a valuable source of history and knowledge and offering perspective on contemporary society. In Manipur, we are losing our manuscripts through decay and improper handling. Current progress in the field of information and communication technology offers a potential solution to the problem. Through large scale digitization projects, manuscripts can not only be stored and preserved, but also made available to the public. This paper highlights the importance of the Manipur Manuscripts collection and the necessity to preserve the collection for future generations.
