Abstract
Cystic kidney diseases are a heterogeneous group of congenital or acquired diseases, with or without genetic cause, which have in common the presence of renal cysts. The incidental finding of cystic lesions in the renal parenchyma is very common, due to the increased use of imaging tests such as ultrasound and computed tomography (CT). These lesions are usually benign simple cysts, although it is essential to distinguish simple cysts of the complex, since the latter are associated with a high risk of malignancy.
