Abstract
The renal vein thrombosis is a spontaneous and common complication under-diagnosed. Firstly described by Rayer on 1840, afterwards Addis observed that the thrombosis and embolism occurred in patients with nephrotic syndrome. It is important to identify the predisposing situations to evaluate the correct therapy. The nephrotic syndrome and malignancy are the principal pathologies related to this clinical entity. The renal chronic disease, it's a factor that predisposes to thromboembolic events. The renal venography is the gold standard in the diagnosis.
