Abstract
Polyarteritis nodosa is a vasculitic disorder that largely affects adults, while Kawasaki disease affects children. Both are rare disease in the UK but their incidence in other parts of the world shows regional variations, with polyarteritis nodosa more common in areas of high hepatitis B virus prevalence. Both are vasculitic diseases that target medium-sized muscular arteries primarily. Guidelines for management and therapy exist for both disorders.
