Abstract
Nosocomial infections are an important cause of morbidity and mortality in hospitalized patients. Inappropriate empirical antibiotic is associated with worst outcomes. In patients presenting with fever of nosocomial origin and infection suspicion, empirical antibiotic should be prescribed according to patient baseline characteristics, presence of risk factors of infections caused by multidrug-resistant pathogens and severity of infection.
