Abstract
Atrial fibrillation is the most common sustained cardiac arrhythmia in the general population and is associated with a significant morbidity, mortality and health cost. Management of patients with AF involves prevention of thromboembolism, rate and rhythm control, and treatment of the cardiac comorbidities.
