Enfermería oncológica: estándares de seguridad en el manejo del paciente oncológico

ResumenLa Enfermería Oncológica al igual que las otras especialidades, debe basarse en Estándares de Calidad y Seguridad del paciente a fin de ofrecer una atención estandarizada que disminuya la variabilidad en la atención, asegure continuidad y establezca barreras para la prevención de eventos adversos que puedan afectar el cuidado. La presente revisión muestra los caminos a través de los cuales el Centro Clínico del Cáncer establece estándares de seguridad propios, tanto para el manejo y administración de medicamentos oncológicos, como para el proceso del cuidado integral del paciente y su familia. Los primeros basados en el marco de Estándares internacionales de Enfermería Oncológica de la ASCOlONS.(American Society of Clinical Oncology/Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy Administration Safety Standards) y los segundos en los Estándares Institucionales.
