Los tumores formadores de cartílago son los tumores óseos primarios más frecuentes. Se caracterizan por un comportamiento extraño debido a su evolución incierta, ya que pueden tener muy buen aspecto pero mal desenlace; además son de difícil diagnóstico.En el presente artículo presentamos el caso de un paciente de 24 años de edad que comenzó con cuadros repetidos de dolor en la pierna derecha secundarios a un tumor de origen óseo. Asimismo, discutimos los aspectos más importantes de este tipo de tumores desde el punto de vista clínico, sus posibles complicaciones, las técnicas de diagnóstico, el diagnóstico diferencial y diversos aspectos de su tratamiento.
The tumors that create cartilage are the most frequent primary bone tumors. It is characterized by its bizarre behavior due to their uncertain course since they may have a good appearance but bad outcome. They are also difficult to diagnose.In the present article we present the case of a 24-year old patient who began with repeated episodes of pain in the right leg secondary to a tumor in the bone. Likewise, we discuss the most important features of this type of tumor from the clinical point of view, their possible complications, the diagnostic techniques, differential diagnosis and several aspects of their treatment.
