Abstract
Color and pulsed Doppler imaging is a valuable technique for the evaluation of the mesenteric arteries. Doppler ultrasound is an excellent screening test for patients undergoing evaluation for chronic mesenteric ischemia. Specific ultrasound findings allow the determination of vascular stenosis and the hemodynamic significance of the lesion. The technique can also be used to assess response to revascularization of the mesenteric arteries. This article describes the techniques, diagnostic criteria, and key points to allow successful evaluation of the mesenteric arteries.
