Abstract
Ultrasound has made a significant impact in the field of urinary interventions, with the principle role being imaging guidance. Ultrasound guidance makes procedures safer and shorter, limiting the number of needle punctures and decreasing radiation exposure. In most cases it is complementary to fluoroscopy for providing image guidance for different urinary procedures. This article describes in detail the application of ultrasound in percutaneous nephrostomy and renal cyst management.
