Abstract
Risk of transfusion increases substantially with hemoglobin concentrations <10 g/dL; risk appears to be independent of other clinical factors. If anemia management patterns shift toward lower hemoglobin concentrations, RBC transfusion use likely will increase in dialysis patients.
