Abstract
The considerable overlap in demographics, histology and perfusion parameters between used and discarded kidneys suggests that many kidneys that were recovered and discarded could have been used in dual kidney transplantation with acceptable outcomes. This highlights the need for further study of how kidneys are selected and used.
