Abstract
Hindgut and ileum can be combined to create a novel continent fecal reservoir. As an alternative to diverting ileostomy or colostomy, continent diversion offers potential metabolic and social advantages. Select patients with cloacal exstrophy will benefit from this form of enteric reconstruction.
