Abstract
The use of extended pattern prostate biopsy templates results in the detection of smaller volume prostate cancers, independent of PSA and Gleason grade. These biopsy templates have contributed to the downward stage migration of prostate cancer detection and may possibly contribute to the risk of over detection.
